UST Ideology

House & Pyramid

House

When building a house, a solid foundation must be established in order for a home to last a lifetime. The walls are then built to provide stability and then the roof is built to provide protection. Once the house is completed, then you begin to fill the house with hundreds of items.

Now, apply this to soccer. A solid foundation must be created in order for the player to grow. If the player has bad habits, improper mechanics, imbalance of techniques then the house will wobble, collapse and have to be rebuilt again. This is the most important stage for a players development. The walls are then built upon a solid foundation, this is when a player begins to build their technical and tactical skills up. The bigger the walls, the bigger the house. It is then completed with a roof, where all technical and tactical movements & mechanics are solidified creating a solid house. Once the house is completed, we are then able to fill the house (brain) with additional details, skills and techniques to create a unique and individual house.

Pyramid

A pyramid is created with many layers that are supported by a strong and large foundation. Pyramids constructed with time and are not formed in a short period of time.

UST development approach is built like a pyramid. Player's progress through the different stages (layers) of development in order to reach the next stage. A player age 8 will have a different pyramid structure than that of an 18 year old, as the 18 year old has years of experience to build on. The 8 year old is just beginning their foundational phase (the bottom level) and constructing their strong foundation. When it is formed, the player then begins to build on their foundation until the pyramid is complete.

Our objective, however, is for our client's pyramids to not be the same for other's in their age group. We hope our 10 year old's are able to have a pyramid a 12 - 13 year old would have. This takes commitment and dedication to achieve.
